Settling In Process

At Banana Moon Hatton, we understand the importance of working with our families to settle children to nursery. We stagger our settling in sessions ahead of the families start date to gradually introduce the child into nursery - this is line with our family and children's well-being pledges.

The first settling in session is an opportunity for our families to meet the team within the child's room and the child's key person. This is where lots of communication takes place around the child's development and routine.

We then look to stagger the other settling in sessions to meet the needs of the individual child. During these sessions, we aim to complete different elements of their routine, including meal times and sleeps.

A range of suitable activities are out in our continuous provision to spark curiosity and engage children in play. Here, you can see two of our newest children engaging in play dough with herbs and loose parts to support their sensory and fine motor development, who have settled into nursery life so well!

We're really looking forward to welcoming our new families over the coming months to join the Banana Moon Hatton family!
